Must Haves for Your New Baby
If you have ever walked into a baby supply store you know that your “wants” quickly become “needs” when you see how cute so many of the items are. However, everything you see at the store is not necessary for your little one. In fact, most things are not even really necessary. There are a few things you will really need, though, and will find they are truly invaluable. Each family finds they have a list of what works for them, but while you are building your list this is a great place to start.
Every baby needs a crib. This crib may be located in the family room or the nursery, but babies need cribs. You can choose a round baby crib, a mini crib, or any other size or shape. Just make sure you buy a crib for your baby. Even if your little one does not sleep in the crib the first few weeks/ months that’s okay. You will be so happy to have the crib put together and waiting for baby than trying to deal with crib assembly postpartum. This is something you want to handle before the baby is born.
Another must have is a sleeper bassinet. Parents will find the sleeper bassinet, or even the rocking bassinet, is a must have that makes life so much easier. This bassinet is portable and allows mom to keep baby close and safe at all times. If you have not considered a sleeper bassinet, especially if you already have a crib, then you will want to look at the benefits. In this particular situation the benefits are high and you will appreciate the sleeper bassinet considerably.
Often, parents will change their baby on the floor, table, bed, a chair or anywhere else that is convenient. However, the truth of the matter is that a nursery changing table is your very best option. You can store diapers, wipes, diaper cream, and other important items within reach and have them as soon as you need them. Plus, having one spot to change the baby means that if an accident occurs it is in a safe place!
One often overlooked item that should be in every nursery is a good comfortable rocker or glider chair. You will spend many hours feeding and comforting your new baby. What better way to enjoy this special bonding time than in a comfortable chair
Every mom could easily put some things on your list of what you “must have “ for a new baby. However, if you simply do a little research and ask other moms then you will find out quickly what is necessary and what is not.
