The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) safety standard for crib changing tables says that baby changing tables with a flat surface must have a barrier on 4 sides to adequately protect your baby from rolling off. If the design is a contoured surface then only 2 barriers are required on opposing sides. If the changing table you are considering does not meet the ASTM standard then DO NOT BUY IT!
